The first week of the CPD programme featured the presentation of some mind blowing toys of the UNISA library. On display was the 3D printers and scanners. I was just recovering from the shock of being so uninformed about all these 'toys' when we were availed the opportunity to visit the UNISA library. I was not prepared for what I saw. I was totally dazed, to say the least surprised at the level of sophistication of the library. It is a mega and complex system simplified and made effective with the employment of automated systems. Of course the automated security system was no more alien to me by the time I entered the library. It was other systems that caught my attention.
THE BOOK LENDING SYSTEM:This automates the whole process of lending. This is absolutely amazing.
THE TELELIFT: An amazing innovative technology. For sending physical materials from one floor to another.
